Hunt,

I did have a similar problem with a streaming quote Java program that produced illegal error messages on multiple (different manufacturers) machines and it didn't seem to make a difference as to whether I was using Navigator or Internet Explorer. I wasn't able to actually solve the problem other than to find a different service that offered me the same data.

Regards,
Jim

Hunt,

Are you runnig Win95 or Win98. When I upgraded to Win98 it didn't support my Diamond video card and that created unexpected conflicts all over the place?

<<<< I know that you posted this in humor. However, how about that damn sign that keeps showing up ever 15 minutes that says that my program has done something illegal and will be shut down >>>
Am glad you said it was a dogpaq. Perhaps you got the one I gave away a few months back that I gave to my son for the very reasons you mentioned. A CPQ Deskpro running at 100 mhz.
Tried every maneuver to fix it. Was worst on Netscape with
Quote.com. Seemed allergic to Java.
It was some temporary help to reload Win 95 and Netscape
from the free updates available on the Web, but never fixed it completely. I later found one of the 4, 8 meg memory modules was bad, but dont think that was the problem.
Am now using a 400mhz Optiplex which cost about 1700 in the Dell company store in Austin. No need to toss it off the Space Needle, can give it to someone and take a tax-writeoff.

Hunt

I run a small PC repair business and had the exact same (kernel32.dll) errors, on the same website, for months. I tried everything. I eventually gave up and upgraded. FYI: at that time I was running a Cyrix CPU, an S3 4MB video card, and Windows 95. PM me if you want to discuss it further.
