VANCOUVER, Feb. 17 /CNW/ - Peter Bradshaw, President and Chief Executive
Officer of First Point Minerals Corp., announced today that Mr. William
Myckatyn has been appointed to the company's board of directors.
Mr. Myckatyn, a mining engineer based in Vancouver, is the President and
Chief Executive Officer of Dayton Mining Corp., an intermediate gold producer

Mines and held a number of senior positions with Placer Dome.
''The addition of Mr. Myckatyn to the First Point board is another

known in his field, is held in high regard in Canada's mining and financial
communities, and has very extensive international experience. These strengths
will be a great asset to our board.''
Mr. Myckatyn replaces Stephen Mulherin of Calgary, who has resigned from
the board due to other business commitments. Mr. Mulherin was one of the
company's founding directors and was instrumental in helping guide the company
from its inception.
