Senior mining executive appointed to First Point Minerals' board VANCOUVER, Feb. 17 /CNW/ - Peter Bradshaw, President and Chief Executive Officer of First Point Minerals Corp., announced today that Mr. William Myckatyn has been appointed to the company's board of directors. Mr. Myckatyn, a mining engineer based in Vancouver, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Dayton Mining Corp., an intermediate gold producer with operations in Chile. Prior to joining Dayton, he was President and CEO of Princeton Mining Corporation until its merger with Imperial Metals Corp. Before joining Princeton, Mr. Myckatyn was President and CEO of Gibraltar Mines and held a number of senior positions with Placer Dome. ''The addition of Mr. Myckatyn to the First Point board is another important step in the company's growth,'' Mr. Bradshaw said. ''He is well known in his field, is held in high regard in Canada's mining and financial communities, and has very extensive international experience. These strengths will be a great asset to our board.'' Mr. Myckatyn replaces Stephen Mulherin of Calgary, who has resigned from the board due to other business commitments. Mr. Mulherin was one of the company's founding directors and was instrumental in helping guide the company from its inception.
