I've enjoyed the discussion about NTAP and EMC. For me, the significant difference between the two companies (as opposed to the two stocks) is that EMC's value chain has many more links in it. If the two companies do eventually compete on a regular basis in the same market, that's when the competitive advantage of EMC's value chain will become most apparent.

The two companies are so different that both could be terrific investments for entirely different reasons.
