DS, >>>"Someone tell me, really, what motive does IBM have here. Where is the money?
Serious question.<<<

IBM said customers have been asking them to sell systems loaded with Linux, as well as NT. This is the new IBM, which actually does listen to customers. I wouldn't sell them short. It will be interesting to see how Red Hat's Linux support for IBM machines goes. Don't forget, Intel is investing in Red Hat also. To answer your question, where the money is, is in IBM's pocket if Linux helps IBM sell hardware. Won't hurt Red Hat's feelings either.
