Drypers Expands International Distribution With Wal-Mart
Includes Canada, Germany, China
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 19, 1999--Drypers Corporation (Nasdaq:DYPR - news) announced another step forward in its two year relationship with Wal-Mart Stores (NYSE:WMT - news), expanding distribution of Drypers products to three major new international markets.

Drypers said Wal-Mart will retail Drypers products in all stores in Canada, Germany, and China. In addition, Wal-Mart affiliate Cifra will retail Drypers in all its stores in Mexico. Distribution to these new locations is expected to begin in the second quarter. Drypers currently distributes branded or private label products through Wal-Mart stores in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Asia.

''This announcement is in line with our strategy to increase sales through mass merchandisers,'' said Walter V. Klemp, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Drypers. ''This will also employ new plant capacity added last year.''

Klemp noted that today's announcement was also in line with Drypers overall corporate strategy to grow its share of the US grocery store market - now more than 7% - as a platform to further expand into both the domestic market and the fast-growing international market.

Lots of insider buying at $5 and above as well over past year!
