Hi Emile, studying some posts concerning the return of Christ, attempting to grasp it all, which I don't, I have a question. I am puzzled by the following verses in light of 70AD being the fulfillment of His return. More specifically, how does Acts 1:11.b fit in? and 1 Tess 4:14+ "After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight." (Acts 1:9 NIV) "They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them." (Acts 1:10 NIV) ""Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."" (Acts 1:11 NIV) Different translation- "They said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."" (Acts 1:11 NRSV) When will this happen?? Is this a third coming? ???????? "For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus comes, God will bring back with Jesus all the Christians who have died." (1 Th 4:14 NLT) "I can tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not rise to meet him ahead of those who are in their graves." (1 Th 4:15 NLT) "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves." (1 Th 4:16 NLT) "Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever." (1 Th 4:17 NLT) Please answer, struggling on this end. Love in the Lord Jesus, David
