It's usually 1,000 shares automatic, but firms reduce it usually to 200 when volume, activity, etc goes up.

MM really have no preference as to whether a stock goes down or up. They make money both ways. I, however, do have a preference...UP! This is why I complain. Finally, I think MM can make more money in a BULL market when a stock slides. The odd thing about this is: WHy the heavy selling today? Volume the past week was anemic at best. Nobody was buying. The stock just sat there between $13-$14. So who is selling? The big guys? I don't think so. It's the little guys.

Yet somebody sold/bought 150,000 shares. If it was a sell. How conveniet for the MM, who sees the huge sell order, to drive it down... The old "Jamming" technique that my friend told me about? Notice the stock then rebounded... Hmmmmmm....
