neal--

whether you want to acknowledge it or not, people dont connect to AOL for stock quotes or the motley fool. they connect because it is ubiquitous and easy for neophytes to use.

i dont think i understand exactly what the rest of the message is. BLS is making money off ecommerce...in a variety of ways. they lease data circuits to ISPs for one.

the scenario you have set up here can be done by anyone. and costing on access could really make problems for peering.

can you expand on this some more...it sounds interesting, but i am a little confused. are you saying that the RBOCs need to set up some kind of directory push service? and if banking is done on the internet, why do i need to have a local bank?

good luck to all,
trey
