Sector, I couldn't agree more...while we all have emotions we have to be as dispassionate as possible when evaluating whether to buy, hold or sell. Rational assessment is the only reasonable way to be in the market or else the risks grow exponentially, I believe.

If you believe in the company's prospects and are sitting on losses you can (if the current assessment is valid) sell at a big loss, wait 31 days ang buy back in. You've spent some commission dollars, of course, but you have racked up tax losses that can be used to offset gains or otherwise lower your taxes at minimal cost and still retain your position in the company. I did that late last year...it's a way to profit from your losses.

Going forward the question is whether cutting edge products can be translated into big profits and/or a potential acquisition by another. I feel that the price cannot hover around the cash value of the company for very long but there is the "show me" attitude on the Street that enables bargain hunters to buy now IF they believe the future holds reasonable prospects for gains. That may not be next week or even next quarter - depends on what your horizon is, your timeline. And that takes coldhearted analysis without emotion crowding in. If you're emotional you ought not be in this stock, IMHO.
