Hi Mike,

It was supposed to be FTTH, not FITH, but yes it stands for fiber to the home. I don't know how they were interfacing at the home and, unfortunately, also don't know how far they got except that they at least got as far as a pilot installation (kind of like Orlando except without the content, from what I heard). The other "mistake", with the benefit of hindsight, was to standardize everything on ATM-when was the last time anyone thought ATM would even reach the desktop, let alone the home? I think it shows the difficulty of pursuing multi-year government-backed initiatives in areas where the technology is changing rapidly. Glad, for a change, it was someone else's tax dollars at work!
