Gord,

Shortage in coins is due to overdone Y2K hype. Once people realize that the whole deal was overblown, watch run to recover a portion of the large PREMIUM they forked over for coins. The minters never thought so many people would fall for the hype.

Collectors items? How many people can afford to keep gold which was overpaid in coin form? Gold is gold, whatever year is stamped on it in the confines of a safety deposit box.

Just remember a simple fact: almost all of the gold EVER mined is STILL AROUND! There is ample supplies of gold and silver.

Don't mortgage the farm based on the Y2K hype. Most companies have either finished or are very close to having finished their Y2K software development.
