Well.....

It sounds like you think that DELL is going to 27.50 per share.
Now , that is an opinion!

After listening to the CC, it seems that DELL is intent on entering some new businesses. The External and Network storage and Subzero PC's.

The External storage business requires that they acquire technical personnel from the other companies and they address the system engineering and support issues. They need a general purpose product to attach to high speed networks independent of the operating systems.

The Subzero PC business requires that they address the issue of who they want to sell these machines to and how they are to provide support and service. I suggest that they sell a " premium handholding support contract" for small business and consumers as a separate item. If the customer is knowledgeable they will not need the Premium contract. This engenders repeat business.

DELL should be able to make serious revenue money in the subzero segment and serious margin money in the external storage business.
So I would not be opposed to building their cash up for use in these new business.

I think they need to get a real advertising agency to do their advertising. GTW seems to be better at this consumer advertising than DELL, CPQ or HWP.

Finally, I think that MD and TM and the rest need to sharpen their focus. MD's book deal really did not help him or the company that much and it is a distraction.

The notion of setting up country stores like GTW is useful only for the retail consumer market. This market should not be neglected. They could also look at setting kiosks in retail stores with BTO direct ordering from those stores of retail consumer computers. This approach may be cheaper than the country store approach. Whether it works or not depends entirely on execution.

Needless to say there are other interesting businesses they could start. I think that MD needs to focus on DELL rather than his venture capital activities.

Just my opinion....
