Chande is only creative TA man today. A person who doesn't know a little Gann lives in darkness.

I certainly love Chande and was re-reading parts of "Beyond Technical Analysis" just last night. Personally I am also very impressed with the work of Dennis Myers who is a frequent contributor to TASC. His articles are hard to digest because of the complex math but I think worth the read. I have learned a lot from him on the subject of trying to optimize systems then test the results with out of sample data.

i would add Thomas DeMark and Welles Wilder to the list of current great TA developers.
Chande's systems are great in creating high percentage of winning trades, but they also produce lower profits than many other systems because of his concentration on the winning percentage and minimal downside risk.

The more basic the system is, the faster that it can respond. Which inturn allows for greater profit.
