News release on the Sungold site: SUNGOLD GAMING INTERNATIONAL LTD. 1300 Park Place, 666 Burrard Street Vancouver, BC V6C 3J8 NEWS RELEASE February 19, 1999 Trading Symbol: SGGNF - BB 12g 3-2 (b): 82-2157 Sungold Gaming International, Inc. and its wholly owned American subsidiary, Sungold Gaming (U.S.A.), Inc., have today filed a comprehensive lawsuit in the Michigan courts against the Match-e-be-nash-she-wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians of Michigan a/k/a/ Gun Lake Band, the corporate arm of the Gun Lake Band and various leaders of the Gun Lake Band. The litigation arises out of notification earlier this month that the Gun Lake Band will not honor its agreements with the Company's American subsidiary. The Company and its American subsidiary are seeking damages totaling in excess of $447,800,000., as well as specific performance of the agreements which exist between the parties. Since 1994, the Company's American subsidiary has financed the efforts of the Gun Lake Band to obtain recognition as a Native American Tribe by the Bureau of Indian Affairs of the United States Department of Interior. In announcing the initiation of the litigation, Kim Hart, President of Sungold Gaming International, said: "Our Company has worked diligently to support the Gun Lake Band in its efforts to achieve recognition as a Native American Tribe. The Gun Lake Band and many of its leaders have benefited from our company's financial support of the Band. We will not permit the Gun Lake Band and its leaders to retain the benefits of our support and then walk away from their moral and legal obligations. We have instructed our American legal counsel to pursue this matter vigorously." SUNGOLD GAMING INTERNATIONAL LTD. Per: Kim N.
