I hear ya. My top of the line Pentium 120 was top of the line for about a month. A couple of years after I bought it for $3500, one that was twice as fast was half the price. My $500 printer and scanner are now both replaceable for about $150 each. I already built a Pentium II 400 workstation this year. My first PC without a S3 graphics chip (it has a STB Velocity 4400 with a TNT chip). The new games just would not play on the S3 GX based STB Nitro board and the Pentium 120. Riven would go blue screen every couple of seconds of video. The new system handles things just fine. The 120 system still does everything else well but needs some upgrading for Y2K compliance and the CMOS battery could give out at anytime. So I will just get around these minor problems and get a new motherboard that will work with a Savage4 Pro card. Then i will be 3 out of 4 PCs with a S3 chip. I am doing my part to support the stock.
