Agfa "Explored" Flop!...

and evidently didn't like what they saw. Agfa just rolled out all their new products at their big news conference this morning, and Flop! was NOWHERE to be found. Instead, the only Iomega connection was a high-end scanning station with a Zip and a CD-R Burner built in; and a high-end Printer station with floppy, Zip and CD-R Burner built-in.

This is Iomega's ally in the digicam realm? Looks like Agfa's another Compaq. Compaq used to be an Iomega ally too...

Iomega just can't seem to win. And Iomega Management just can't seem to get the business deals done.

Here is the new Kodak 265 as I promised days ago:

(along with other replacement models)

Some tried to argue with me that Kodak would not replace the 260 model so soon. I think that my point has been made. The new Kodaks all have CompactFlash...No Flop! drive.

It is simply not worth it to digital camera makers to design around a Flop! drive. The cameras themselves evolve so quickly, that constant re-tooling designing around the clunky Flop! drive and its necessary larger batteries would have a great impact on the bottom-line, ergonomics, and aesthetic design of the camera.

Better to stay with the simple, tiny, and very INexpensive form factor of a CompactFlash slot only.
