Bill Clinton supported and signed into law the very rules of discovery that allowed such latitude of inquiry into his own sex life. He also supported the renewal of the Independent Counsel statute. "The rule of laws, not of men" means that our rulers are subject to the very laws they impose upon the rest of us. Blame Clinton for his own mess, for he was hoisted by his own petard, unleashing the very forces you deplore.
