I think that your idea is excellent. I am looking forward to the time when Linux challenges Windows 2000 for supremacy as the basic OS on sophisticated home computers. Can't beat the Linux price. Furthermore, I also think that Transmeta has the opportunity to put a big time hurt on Intel with its microprocessor that is rumored to be able read all different types of OS's. Should be an interesting next five years.

Hey Chuzz!

Customers simply down-load the software they want from Dell's servers and are billed immediately. Dell carries no inventory, but simply pays the software publisher as soon as the sale is made.

Isn't that their goal,...no inventory? <g>

That's just the beginning. I like what Tim Luke posted. A "server" shipped in an envelope. Sounds crazy? NOT!!!!!

The key here is the MANAGMENT!!
