Let me throw my 2 cents in... I tried to use a 640x480 digital camera made by Olympus with a program that I use to reconstruct traffic accidents. It was not working. The resolution only allowed me to zoom in once. I then went back to scanning 35mm's on an HP4c scanner. Now I have a Kodak digital that has something like 1280x960 resolution. I can zoom in 8 times and still see some detail. This beats the scanned 35mm's. I have tried printing some of these photos on both my HP855c and HP1120cse printers with HP Glossy paper, at $1 per page. They look okay from a distance but will never be mistaken for a 8x10 made from a 35mm slide when campared from close range. I am satisfied with the setup I currently have for the need that it currently fills. It will not make me part with my old slr....

On another note, I just put an HP 8100 rewritable CD in my old PC. Installation went well, but my system kept hanging on bootup. Windows explorer would not run once I was in Windows. I went to the HP web site for this drive, found the solution to my problem (rename one file) and was up and running. Now if only HP's stock growth would make me as happy as their products do....

Annual meeting, any reason to go?
I'm in the neighborhood. Tuesday 2:00 pm at Flint Center.
They'll be collecting tickets at the door; tickets came
on the back page of the proxy.

Regarding digital cameras, some interest on the LSI Logic
thread due to their chipsets.
