You are between a Rock and a hard place. I don't think I can help you and if my posts are over your head, too bad. I don't need to figure out TM's motives, I just need to know if he has been right in his predictions. They are pretty damn well filled with tech jargon and yet his conclusions are wrong. Maybe you missed that in your reading of his posts.

Maybe being right about things like major industry trends (NT vs Unix) or the limitations and design of CCUR's server (# of streams, cost, storage and software) doesn't mean much to you, but to most long term investors it does. That is why I started posting in the first place. It was to tell people that TM and Tang were wrong in their predictions. Predictions that I so nicely documented for you so you can judge the value of his current posts.

To say TM doesn't understand technology would be foolish. I would say he knows more than I do. Yet his conclusions have been summarily wrong. I speak with people who I KNOW are smarter than TM because they are in the drivers seat (chief tech officers,ETC). That, along with a vast amount of reading and experience in helping finance a start up cable network gives me confidence that I understand the industry and the position of CCUR. Impressed yet?

NO BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM CCUR! Picked by Time Warner, Integration and marketing deal with SFA, an alliance with Prasara, an alliance with Domintel, an alliance and seminar series with Campus Televideo, an alliance for digital encoding with Minerva, selected by Intertainer, installed and running server for Marcus, integration deal with Pioneer, integration agreement with GIC, hire former SFA SVP as VOD president, hire current Marketing and sales Executive from Pioneer New Media Technologies to head cable VOD sales. You must be kidding!

CCUR doesn't need to make announcements about improvements in their server since it is the best cost/performance on the market. DIVA needed to issue a release because there are a lot of bondholders with bonds selling at a discount and they are worried about Diva's cost structure not to mention a company with over 200 million invested had 63,000 in earnings for the quarter). IN fact, Diva will likely be forced to give up equity ownership to MSO's to gain access to their systems. Many of the top MSO's won't even let them into any of their markets.

Now that I think about it, there is nothing preventing an alliance of CCUR/SFA/Prasara/Minerva (maybe even Intertainer because they have the content deals in place) from going in, installing the two way platform and sharing the revenue from everything. VOD, internet access, e-mail, IP telephony, video conferencing, shopping, interactive games and services. I am talking the whole pie here!

Hell, I might just form the shell and contract out to each of these players to build out small/med cable systems and get 50% of the whole enchalada, forget just vod.

Well, gotta go. Need to drum up some financing (hey SFA has tons of cash on their books and they would be building the damn system). Need to put together the business plan and line up the strategic partners. I'll be mega rich! Mogul city! Thanks Rocko!

By the way, even Diva agrees with me that Hollywood is totally against having their digital masters (however encrypted) downloaded into a storage device in the home such as a set top box or your hard drive. TM knows his mps, but not how the business and technology will come together. OK rocko!
