It's kind of confusing. I found about about preferred from the website preferredtrade.com, but you do the web trading at www.preftech.com. The windows-based software is emailed to you once you join. You don't really ecn trade through preferred (they do an ARCA like routine of trying to auto-fill your order at various MM's or Island, but you can't really pick...) Not using either of those services (currently vanilla mytrack.com with minimal realtime quotes, since I only really swingtrade...)
