Jules,

"Omnipoint discussions with potential strategic partners have dragged on for months, but some analysts expect the wireless telephone service provider to reach a decision before next month's re-auction of certain phone licenses."

Jules,

I have not followed the reauction too closely through the first 8 rounds but just checked current standings. Cook Inlet/VoiceStream high in both Chicago & Dallas ($62MM/$29MM). Early yet but this is a far cry from the $461MM/291MM Pocket (DCR) paid (did not pay) initially.

Leap is high bidder in Detroit so far at $8MM.

These 3 markets are rather crucial to GSM survival, IMO. I'm not sure that Omnipoint needs the markets, however, provided that Cook Inlet/VoiceStream is successful.
