pricing suits


Microsoft Corp. has been socked with
two class action antitrust lawsuits that
claim the company charges monopoly
prices for its software. A suit in
California filed late Thursday seeks
damages on behalf of all people in the
state who paid monopoly prices to buy
the Windows operating system, Word
and Excel. On Tuesda y, a federal class
action suit was silently filed against
Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT) and three
major computer distributors of its
software -- Compaq Computer
(NYSE:CPQ), Dell (Nasdaq:DELL) and
Packard Bell NEC (Nasdaq:NIPNY).
