Thanks Nick and Nuke44 for that info on the moby grapes. Come to think of it, I don't know why I thought it was a guitarist we have out here. I'm really not sure which of the band members it is.... one of them though, I'm fairly sure. There are a lot of victims of the 60s San Francisco counterculture living on the streets in the Haight these days - many are homeless. There were some articles in the Chronicle a while back on them. Thats where I saw the picture of the moby grape guys and realized I had seen him and his little dog (he has a yellow plastic shopping cart so he is pretty easy to spot). A lot of the other people were behind the scenes people at the Fillmore and some lesser-known band people. The reason this is interesting is that many of these folks experienced financial success (or increased the wealth of others) so it is not as if they were always leaning on the system.
