tonyt: What's a "purple salm". Thanks for the transcript of the panegyric to spam. I never could catch the whole text in the original. I think Monty Python pinched it from "Chips with Everything", from Wesker. Another Monty variation was the travel agent and his diatribe about holidays in Spain with "Watney's" - a British bottled beer.

My favourite is when they started an argument in a laundromat as to whether essence comes before existence, and then went to Paris to have it settled by Jean-Paul Sartre.

You don't happen to know the "Watney" text do you, or the J-P Sartre one. I assume you have the Dead Parrot off by heart.
