Portal Deal... not in this lifetime

I went to the SATH CEO Yahoo chat and K Lillie said the following when asked about a portal deal, direct quote, "...We have had and still have ongoing discussions with any substantial partners who can assist us in growing this business. By business I mean SHOP AT HOME and collectibles.com. Those discussions include portals."

JC, any ceo of any company can come up with a line like this.. ie. we want to partner with anybody who can help us. Do you really believe from an answer like this that a portal deal is imminent. Alot of people are spreading hype about what Lillie said about a portal deal. ie. he's aggressively pursuing one and it's in the near future. Lillie never ever said anything like that, it's just people putting words in his mouth. In fact, when someone asked him why he thought the price of his co. ran up so fast recently, his answer was some BS about how he thought people are finally understanding the value of SATH and Collectibles.com BLA BLA BLA. When everyone knows that it ran up in anticipation of an imminent portal deal spread via hype. Lillie seemed to be an honest guy and I think he was really trying to avert the issue of a portal deal as to not mislead people. I didn't sense that he was on the verge of any substantive portal deal, rather, I got the sense that he didn't want to mislead others into thinking that a deal was coming anytime soon.---- Not Howie

Thankyou for your valuation input JC.. All I know is I bought Sath in Dec after a tip off (most definitely not from internet) that sath was in negotations with portals and there was then an expectation amongst traders then In DEc that if there was a partnership with a major portal like yhoo it could be in mid 20s because thats what other co. did with similar partnerships. Target is 25-30 because it has been there before and Im not going to speculate beyond that however if it is valued as an internet co then I do not disagree with your figures .

Went long again at 10 1/4 (after what looked to me like a double bottom ) and with expections of better earning s over next year, A possible portal deal sometime in next year and because of the fact that it is a takeover target..If we get one out of 3 good enough. to be aggressive. JMO.
The news about SAth doing jewelry on Friday was very interesting too because previously SATH catered only to men to have a niche and stay away from competion and from now it will be hitting the competition such as AThome and those others that sell jewelry on TV headon further increasing takeover speculation IF Sath is succcessful. Can it come up with the goods? Will be interesting to find out..
Gone for rest of weekend. bye.
