Please don't stop posting!
I too would hate to see this deteriorate into another thread of useless chatter. If the experts start to leave well then........
For every "lazy" poster there are many of us in lurker mode laying back and learning, reading, and acting on the expertise presented here without posting a bunch of nonsense. With the quality of picks presented here, anybody should be willing to give back any useful information they have for consideration without any thought of compensation whatsoever ....I mean come on, geeez you guys!!!!

Re: CYOE

An interesting quote from:

sec.yahoo.com

Under the Systeam acquisition agreement, the Company is obligated to pay $3.5 million by March 18, 1999. The Company is currently seeking to raise funds to meet this obligation. However, if the Company in unable to obtain the funds by March 18, 1999, the Company may ask Systeam to extend such date. There can be no assurance that an extension will be granted and this agreement maybe terminated, which could have a material adverse effect on the Company.

Bear,
I really think you mis construed my idea. I want to state right off the bat that I wasn't suggesting it for personal gain. I have no problem paying $1000 or $10,000. I dropped $1000 as soon as Anthony mentioned the charity thing without even thinking about it. There are others on this thread who can't afford it and its a way for them to participate, but much more importantly its an excersise to actually encourage intelligent participation. We always make fun of the lemmings on the long threads and how they just lurk and then mindlessly fall of the cliff. Well I think this thread is starting to bring in people who are starting to mindlessly short stocks now. This is very dangerous. In my company, I always incent the behavior I am trying to reinforce, and as a result get very positive results. My suggestion was of the same nature. not so I could get a free ride.
If I wanted to do that I would just sit back and lurk.
Respectfully Yours,
Rob
P.S. I agree about people asking the same stupid questions over and over agian without reading the entire thread first.

P.P.S. If my idea was considered a good one I would request it does not apply to me since some people thought I was suggesting it for personal gain.

Bear down you fellow staight shooter, keep it up. Fight the bloody Yahooization of the thread, I am with you. You and Robbracer and the many other experts out there are valued and important. We all know there is no such thing as a stupid question, but you don't call a doctor in order to pop a zit do you. Its not a stupid question, but it vastly underutilizes the power of the internet and bores the experts on the thread. You can go to www.zitpoppers.com and get everything, and save the doctors time to address the non-trival.

The acceleration of postings is going up so fast, but I have to agree that too much is basic questions, I hope that I myself am not guilty of this, I think about it every time I post this group of experts. I have written at least 20 posts that I looked at thought about it, and just did not send.
There is a site www.beartracker.com/sell.asp that is an excellent repostitory of information. I expect myself to read that ALL before I ask questions that may be contained within it. I also hesitate to ask questions during the trading day. I just think the thread has a different purpose during the trading day, its business time.

The beauty of this thread is that it is a repostitory, post should stand a test of time, while I would hate more strict restrictions and people bitching about people following the guidelines, I still think that common sense should apply. For example we should all assume we have realtime quoters.

Well I am winding down but Bear your comments are extremely well taken, Robb you are on the right track as well, but lets leave the seminar out of the mix, lets just give suggestions for content and hope that it goes off without a hitch.

Lastly Bear I have a lot of respect for you, while I was a newbie I watched you and floydie take on MLRE. Beauty ehhh? When I posted my question toward trading as a profession last nigh, I specifically looked for a post by you to reply to because I wanted to see it and hear your unfiltered apprasial. Robb stated it and you agreed that combined was the datapoint I want to ponder, thankyou both

So Bear hold us to the same levels you expect elsewhere, and whatever you do, don't water it down.

You realize of course this means I will have to do a top ten list!!!!

<Personally I think this thread has gone way downhill lately with the constant play by play on select picks and STUPID questions from lazy people that can't seem to figure anything out for themselves and are too lazy to read the first 12000 posts here.>

I agree with the remark about the unecessary play by play posts, but I think your remark stating that people are lazy if they are not willing to read 12000 post to get the answer to their question ("STUPID" or otherwise) is a little overdone. I personally see nothing wrong with a newbie, or anyone else, asking a question during non-trading hours. As to your use of the word "STUPID," let me say it displays more of a particular attitude than any concrete reality. It is a relative term at best... All of our questions could be considered stupid by a higher intelligence if that was the attitude of such a being. Or, to put it in a more immediate context, all of YOUR questions might be considered "STUPID" by a much more experienced trader if that was their disposition.
