Frank, You made good points about Europe, but you should also be aware that the high cost for computer goods there is not due to manufacturers per se but they way they run their economies. Everything goes through layers of importers, middlemen, etc. each taking a big cut, such that they pay 30 to 200 percent more there for the same things as here. That why they are so often behind us in development, they have to pay through the nose for every new thing. And iN some "underdeveloped" countries it is even worse. That is why the Internet has such a potential. Dell can sell computers direct to such customers (if they could get on the net and learn to trust it) and the savy consumers there can finally bypass years of delay and overloaded prices.
