Michelle, its my understanding that the country stores (GTW) don't carry any inventory. An interested buyer can come into the store and look at the various computers that GTW sells. They can operate the computers and there are GTW employees in the store who can answer questions. If the buyer wishes to purchase a computer, the order is placed with the factory and GTW then builds the computer which is delivered to the buyer's home. I think the store concept is a "cheap" way of hand holding the new buyers and getting them to buy a pc. Dell should look into this concept if they are going to sell sub 1K pc's.

Folks,
Every owner of a DELL who has friends is a country store for DELL.
Your friend comes over and says, "new computer huh?"
You reply,
"You want to try it.. Has it all, XXX MB RAM, XXGB hard drive, 21 inch montor, printer, great video, etc. etc. And I bought it on the web and it came in 5 days. They even gave me the credit to buy it or lease it from Dell!"

They try it, they like it.. You help them order their own the same day or a few days later when the friend has checked prices and configurations at the competition.

Congratulations! You now have now opened a DELL country store and it cost the company nothing. Beats hanging around your Best buy explaining how the Macs work to strangers.

How about them apples?
