The
market, IMO, is setting up for a horrendous drop once that rise is complete and
AMZN will participate. <<

Mike, I'm curious as to why you think the market will drop could you explain? Thank you.

Mike,

>> This is simply the rally I mentioned several days ago...the move for AMZN is temporary and the market run is gasping its way (probably)to a new high. The market, IMO, is setting up for a horrendous drop once that rise is complete and AMZN will participate. <<

I have been short amzn with initially horrible results, but now I have recovered somewhat. I hope to recover more and end in the black.

However I covered all my position on Friday for these reasons:

1- Thursday had a mid-day reversal from down to up, with increasing volume.

2- followed by a gap up on Friday, followed by relentless buying in small lots which resulted in triple the normal (recent) volume.

3- the analyst upgrade. I think next will be Mary Meeker. I think she will time her re-iterate at key moment to engineer a short squeeze. It is not safe to short until the (upward) effect of her recommendation wears off.

4- Q1 end is approaching. Everyone is expecting sequential increase in rev. If that was not coming, amzn will pass the word to their friendly analysts. If there was a disappointment in the works, the anals would not be saying sequential increase.

As of now I agree with you that a run-up will occur. I hope it goes really high (150 or more) to establish a good basis for shorting.
