Two men were traveling by camel across and exceptionally hot desert. A camel refused to go any further and the rider asked " What is wrong here"?. The other rider replied," Its merely a case of vapor lock"
Stepping off his own mount, he gave the other camel a swift kick in the stomach, whereupon the camel let out a loud(belch?) after which all was well.
All will be well with Dell too.

Hi!!!

Honest valuation and projections have cause a tremendous amount of confidence here...I know you aren't tooo crazy about my heavy investment in DELL ....but, I listen to all you propose...I have stolen info for a long long time...and, as I often say....I'm still cheatin' off the smart guy.... :o)

NEW YORK, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Cash thrifty consumers, spurred by lower prices,
have gone on a
buying binge of personal computers, according to Reston, Va.-based PC Data.

The group says retail store unit sales of Windows-based PCs are up 31.7 percent
from the same
period last year while PC average prices, before rebates and without monitors, have
declined to a
new low of $992, which is the first time prices have fallen below $1,000.

The average price is 26 percent below the $1,340 shoppers were asked to pay a
year ago.

''While aggressive competition between retailers, OEMs and component suppliers
as well as the
holiday seasonal rush helped spur this decline, '' said Stephen Baker PC Data's
senior hardware
analyst, ''the most prominent culprit was the rise of sub-$800 computers.''

Sub-$800 computers accounted for 33 percent of sales. On a year-over- year basis,
unit sales of
sub-$800 computers have generated more than 11 times the volumes of a year ago.

PC Data says Compaq was once again the leader in the retail marketplace with
27.3 percent of
unit sales. Packard Bell-NEC was number two with almost 22 percent of retail unit
sales.

1.317 * .74 = .975. stated another way, pc revenues were negative 2.5%. oh, and this assumes 31.7% growth. idc says 13%. either way...
