J3,

Pardon my intrusion...it won't happen again.

Regarding your PC and Andy. Thank goodness for friends. I kissed off my beloved 5-yr old IBM PC (W3.1) last yr. Like you, kept trying to upgrade it all the time. Went to Dell (W98).

My advice. You are quicker (and much smarter) than your PC. Dump the junk and mail a check to DELL (or anybody) for $3k. Buy the biggest HD and all the RAM they sell. Repeat all the RAM. Keep the old monitors if you like them...buy new boxes. Three should cost LT $6k.

If you buy more than 1 PC, then we have a network issue maybe. No geeky expert but did take a zillion courses last year @ major univ downtown. Don't network unless you have deep pockets and a friend like Andy to abuse.

You'll never look back on this decision to buy new stuff that is so cheap and powerful.

I'm older than your parents. Think you are the greatest. Again, pardon me for lurking & you won't hear from me again. Who has time for all this em?? Best Wishes.
