By next year, the 800 MHz Pentium III Desktop will suffer the same fate

Hopefully the 1GHz K7, due out next year, will smooth the way for Intel. You shouldn't worry about it too much.

Paul, re: Pentium III Xeons under export control,

If the Pentium III is truly the evil "Big Brother" CPU that the outspoken privacy advocates are claiming, then I guess the Chinese government will soon be buying millions of them. Big Brother or not, Intel wins either way! ;-)
