<But isn't it more a reflexion of the odds of discovering valuable mineral resources rather than an indication that are this would-be miner are in for the financial game you describe.> The odds are indeed low of making valuable discoveries and it serves as a hell of a good shield for the legions of con artists...oops promoters and incompetents to hide behind. Wasn't it Mark Twain who coined the phrase "a gold mine is nothing but a hole in the ground with a liar at the top". But of course there are the exceptions to the general case and this business is very cyclical in nature. Otherwise I wouldn't be here scouring the mining threads looking for the undervalued ones among them.
