I rarely buy before 10:30 est. never at open.

Stops might be best set right below a support area if it can be identified and is still in range. yesterday's low or the 3 day lowest low may be a place. Remember there is no way to tell until it is over to know it is a stop run or the bottom fell out.

There are many ways to compute a proper stop point but the heat of the screen throws them aside often. Also keep in mind that the history of the stock should be looked at, are there many runs and reversals intraday? And percents count, A $1 on a $10 stock
is not the same as a $50 stock.

I forgot to give an example on shorts the other day: if a stock moves from $25 to $50 that is a 100% move. If a stock moves from $50 to $25, it is a 50% move.
