The huge expense would be in trying to mount an extended drilling campaign using a helicopter. Daily chopper costs of up to $3,000 would add up to $100,000 per month. A road would cost this much (at most) only once. Additionally, most drill rigs cannot be lifted by a helicopter! Only small rigs that can be broken into pieces can be moved by a chopper. If you commit to one of these, then you will need to call in the chopper each time you want to move ($2-3,000 for the chopper beside the down time on the drill rig) and the depth of the holes is limited because of the small rig size. Take your pick! Spend hard to get funds frivously to satisfy anxious share holders or spend your funds wisely to mount an extended drilling campaign to test their extensive land holdings.
