Dear Offshore: Excellent exposition on Linux vs. NT. I would imagine that MFT is continually trying to improve their reliability which may be inversely proportional to the lines of code represented by MSFT NT vs. Linux. As Linux becomes more sophisticated it will undoubtedly become less stable/reliable. I am sure neither entity will be content to sit on their present limitations but since MSFT has more at stake I would imagine that they have a greater incentive to work harder and faster.

Offshore - thanks for your great answer

- I really get the sense that nothing "incrementally better" w/ replace MSFT.

- Just like the only thing that will knock off Intel is a chip that goes twice as fast.
