So true: a supportive woman/muse is a great asset, AND they are harder to find today -- the role of women has changed quite a bit in the last century, and far fewer are willing to sublimate their lives and individuality in service to the nurturing of their artist/husband/lover's work and career. Women aspire to become more actualized in the pursuit of their own identities and vocational interests within relationships, and are more demanding of reciprocal support in this pursuit.

Interesting that you see an apparent conflict between nurturing and self-actualizing. Must a muse necessarily sublimate her life in order to provide sufficient nurturing?
