I wonder, though, is "hothouse" nurturing so necessary? There are artists such Picasso who simply devoured his lovers. Is this merely his personality trait or does it really tie into the artistic drive?

Be sure to read the great romantic story of Peter Paul Rubens mother and father. His father had an affair with the Princess of Orange, was imprisoned and sentenced to death. His mother did everything to save him and finally succeeded at what price no one can say. Peter-Paul became and obedient hard working son and a great success very young. Every seemed to love him. He became an ambassador. He did more for fat women's image than the inventor of Nutrisweet.
