Dells early 1990s downfall.

If my memory serves me, DELL was very poorly prepared for the popularity of notebook and laptop computers. The market saw these things as the 'latest great thing' and punished DELL for not having the vision to be ahead of the competition in this area. I think DELL re-sold some portables manufactured by another company as a band-aid remedy while they worked out how to produce a great market-beating portable computer line.

About this time, M. Dell realized his company needed some seasoned management as his enterprise grew beyond his ability. This uncertainty punished the stock as well.

What potholes are they stepping into now? PW.
