Oh, yes, I did laugh as well! You failed to find humor in Ulysses?

I know what you mean about having trouble getting into a book: My mother adored David Copperfield. I can't tell you how many times I started it and just couldn't keep on.

Speaking of laughter, what about Sterne's Tristram Shandy?

The Satyricon?

And for delicacy, The Praise of Folly?

Just for the record, I was "Squidded" no less than seven times trying to post that last message!

***OT*** Edwarda, Chuz:

Alright! Alright!!! As soon as my Java class is over, I'll read both Hitchhiker's and "Chuzzlewit", starting with Hitchhiker's since my hubby HAS Hitchhiker's and not Dicken's Chuzzlewit.

The only reason why I quoted stuff from Hitchhiker's is that hubby dearest got into it. I only know what I told AT and parts of his reply to me.

Good grief!!! I got so much to read, it's not funny...anyone know a good speed-reading course??? Never quite picked it up when I was in college. :-)

Cheers,
Joanna
