Kevin,

You know, its funny how nobody speaks of Road Runner as ATHM competition.

Road Runner is viable competition, so much so that it can be argued that it is ATHM's strongest competitor. However, ATHM is the top dog with access to about 60% of customers presently wired with cable and with a lead on the market. ATHM has about about 30% - 35% more customers.

When it comes to Internet cable access, competition comes in various forms. First of all, Road Runner and ATHM can't compete head-on in the same geographic areas because they are limited to the cable partners who have the monopoly in a given area; the direct competition between the two is for the cable providers themselves. The next best form of competition is from the DSL providers. Then there is always AOL, of course.

Does anyone out there use Road Runner? Why are they absent from ATHM discussions?

I use Roadrunner. I own ATHM stock. RR is part of TWX and as such there is no pure play on a RR stock.

ATHM, T and TCOMA are, IMHO, more serious about the service and therefore deserve the attention.

Stuart
