Here I thought I could post without anyone knowing me. Right now I have positions in CMGI and Tellabs, with CMGI a 9 rating and Tellab's a 7.5 rating on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most bullish.
My stack of DD on CMGI is about 6 inches deep. I'm a believer in the net as one of the best ways to capture new trends of business. My outlook so far is to buy CMGI and hold it for 3-5 years. My target for 1999 is $150 to $250 . Now you must know that it started 1999 at $50 and at $109 is up 118 % so far. I think it's IPO's are real good and they tend to work together too. At a very low return of only 30% per
year,in 5 years,I will have $1 million in CMGI alone, and that makes for a good retirement. The Missus and I am going to Maui next month thanks to TLAB. Tellab's will bring out new fiber optic products this year and will IMHO will grow net earnings at 30-40% per year for the next 3-5 years, which is a good rate of growth, but not quite as exiting as the potential of CMGI (up 1008% over the last 12 months)
One can play CMGI in a lot of different ways. Call options, some use of margin accts, can provide leverage for you. You have to put yourself in a position so that you are not subject to panic sells. You need to do your own DD. so that you become a believer in a companies future, knowing the fundamentals ( Like Buffet does)
For me to invest in mutual funds, or 30 stocks is too hard to keep track of and relies on the judgements of others.
Let me know what you think Of CMGI, and we can exchange views.
Best Wishes
Good Hunting
