I don't expect a heavy Japanese Govt.. Investment in gold in the near future. I expect some threats, but little more than a few tonnes here & there to keep up threats. I'm betting Japanese business would be will make a somewhat heavy play, we all know that is where the real money is. Hard to draw line between big business & govt. in Japan anyway.

The way I see it, all the big currencies of the world are overvalued.
World is awash in paper. The world is now growing M-1(cash) at a very hard rate - just in case. It is the M-1 that will bring the whole money supply debate home to roost - IMHO.
