I am using NT, and I installed your program as instructed. The DOS box came up, and the .DLL files are in the BM folder where they should be.

Using the BM icon that appeared on my desktop, I got the following error:

Network error

Unable to request URL from host 127.0.0.1:3456: Connection
refused

Any ideas? (This is a one-machine system, no network.)

Len

OK Craig, we may be making some progress here. I went to the program files and pulled up BrowseMaster and when I clicked on it, the DOS window came up and I did the Control C thing and the box disappeared. But when I make a shortcut icon and click on it I am requested to start the reboot of windows again. I don't know how to access Registry. When I type that in as a file folder, I get 2 Norton Registry hits. If I click on them, I get the following two successive messages. 1) A required .dll file, NUMISC.DLL, was not found. 2) A required .dll file, ASTEXT.DLL, was not found. Is any of this making sense? Oh, one more thing that may help you diagnose this. When I reboot, I am sent to my COMPAQ home center and have to click on my account name to start up the computer again. This never happens when I regularly reboot. Myron

PS--I don't know if I mentioned before that when I click on your URL home page, I cannot access as reported by Len.

<<After you install BrowseMaster on a Win 95 machine, you should have the BrowseMaster.exe in your Startup directory (usually c:\windows\start menu\programs\startup, and the .exe plus 2 .dll files (perl.dll and cw3230mt.dll) in the c:\Program Files\BrowseMaster directory.>>

Craig:
In the Program Files\BrowseMaster directory, I only have 2 files i.e.<.exe and the uninstall file.> No *.dll files. I tried re-installing and still no dice. Any ideas??
I'm Using Win95 and AOL ver 4.0.
Thanks in advance.

Don

Craig, you've definately got a winner here. Browsemaster is fantastic. Sorry I hadn't installed as promptly as I should have.

This makes browsing through the dozens of BS posts much easier. No need to sit and wait for each individual post to come up sequentially or to look over the whole list of posts and decide if it's a good one based on the few words in the heading.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Silicon Investor bought out or applied your program for use in SI. It's great.

Thanks for all the hard work.

PS. How much is it to use after the 30 day free trial period?

Regards.
Jose.
