One thing is for sure, Amzn shareholders will be "assuming the position." :)

Glenn, I've seen this article before and I do, find it amusing. The "Thing" that is left out
is, RCA also decided to compete with IBM head on. They cloned IBM's hugely successful
S360 line and significantly discounted their price. Basically selling close to cost. After 3
or 4 years. They had to close it down. At the time it was the biggest write-off ever wiped
out by an American corp. A few years later GE bought what was left, but did assume the
debt.

James,

Thank you for filling in the details. This was all new and interesting.

Actually, RCA's claim to fame was the commercialism, of the transistor. A little more
impressive that flogging books and commodities.
Don't you think?

I would think so but the market does not agree. Amazon is still a top notch technology company according to them.

I believe that, Aol will end up assuming Amzn's debt. That's my hop, of course.

I doubt AOL will touch anything to do with Amazon again. I suspect Kleiner Perkins will see to that.
