JS,
I've actually had the time this weekend to surf a few unvisited threads. Amazing all the hidden gems I've found.
That being said...
If you like Ampex's chart, you'll be interested in the following.
I wanted to submit one of my favorite cheap stocks: almi.
After yet another explosive move north (perpetrated by TokyoJoe), the stock has changed character at last. I've followed almi for years, and the trading character is new. It's had several spikes, always followed by a rolling off. This time, the new uptrend is solid after the initial pullback.
The company has made some changes, the most obvious of which is changing their name from Alpha Microsystems (a name I never liked) to AlphaServe.com. Much more glamorous. They have spent a number of years divesting inefficient segments of their business, choosing to focus on the things they do best.
The most pronounced change is the enlistment of Salomon Smith Barney as an advisor for pending changes. They will be partnering, spinning off, or selling their internet software division.
You can learn more at alphamicro.com

My $.02,
