Hi Daniel - yes you're right

A Bid of 100,000 shares at market would push the Ask for most stocks way up there beyond where I would want it. You would end up paying way too much for the stock. Better to use a stealth approach with smaller-sized limit Bids.

I've had a look at Web Street. It's highly regarded from the comparative reports that I've seen of online brokers.

The choice between brokers depends on your frequency of trades, the volume of shares you trade and the efficiency of the broker in executing your trades.

It'll be a little while before I add a US based online broker to the two Canadian ones that I currently use. It'll be interesting to see how Merrill fare with their move into the online brokerage market. In addition to NDB, and Web Street I suspect, I'm also looking at Wit Capital for IPO plays. I also understand that they'll add Afterhours trading as well in the near future. Siebert already offer Afterhours trading to non-Institutional clients I believe, but I don't want to go into Afterhours trading for now. Who knows one day we may have 24 hour trading!!

Till tomorrow,

David.
