I doubt that Sony would make the same mistake twice by making the Memory Stick incompatible with other products. I went out recently to price the HandiCam and took a look at digital versions. They are very expensive and the attachment you need to link up to your computer to capture still images was quoted to me at about $600. A digital Handicam with the attachment already as part of the camera exists but it doesn't have the latest features and costs about $1,400. I get the feeling that once these prices come down and technology continues to improve, digital camera sales may be impacted. I am sure that SNDK does not take this threat lightly, and it's reassuring to me to see SNDK making inroads in this market. If SNDK makes as good or better product compared to the Memory Stick, they will win. Sony's competitors wouldn't want to put additional money in their pocket. Better to pay SNDK versus Sony. IMO.

re: the philips velo and Cflash

i apologize for spreading false statements, but my philips velo doesn't support Cflash.
After i bought my first cflash i checked and the philips velo slots look slightly like cflash, but are proprietary.
I.E. no compatibility
i apologize again, sorry
