The IRS generally does not want to see a copy of a 1099 from the taxpayer except in some instances where there is a withholding tax shown on it.

An Excel sheet showing purchases AND sales structured in the form of a Schedule D-1 would likely be fine, carrying the subtotals to the Schedule D and working it through the rest of the return.
